Lingerie: Again, Through the Eyes of a Newbie

Hello! Judy here from Uplift. This month I want to share something that was a real “aha moment” for me: just like there is no one bra that works for everyone, there is no one type of bra that is right — and everything else “less than” or “wrong.”

In September of 2018, I wrote a blog post called Lingerie: Through the Eyes of a Newbie. Eight years later, I still consider myself a “Lingerie Newbie.” Somewhere along the way, I had convinced myself that if you’re not wearing an underwire bra, you aren’t doing it right — whatever I thought “right” was!

For almost nine years, Carla has talked about the importance of a professional bra fitting and the liberation that comes from wearing a properly fitted bra. One thing you might have missed — I certainly did — is what that properly fitted bra actually looks like for you. Are you an underwire person, or does the word make you shudder? Do you prefer: Lace? Smooth? Multi-Purpose? Padded? Pushup or Strapless? …and on and on. These questions can be hard to answer until you’re actually in the dressing room trying things on.

Don’t be fooled by the understated look of Mey’s Simply Better Invisibles. This is the exceptional European quality we’ve come to expect from Mey Bodywear, with a focus on thoughtful design and construction. No added accessories, no bling. Flat, highly elastic bonding replaces traditional seams, creating a smooth, uninterrupted surface that disappears beneath clothing — even under the most unforgiving fabrics. Think fine knits or body-skimming silhouettes: there is no trace. These pieces become one with the body, providing a secure fit without constriction. They move as you move — no pressure points, no digging edges, only a seamless interaction between garment and skin.

Fabric plays a critical role as well. Modal fibers deliver a softness that can only be described as buttery smooth, while also ensuring breathability and durability.

This lingerie isn’t “wrong.” It’s different. It’s designed for the way many of us live now — more basic, minimalistic, functional. Purposely made.

Remember: “No two women are the same, so no two bras fit the same.” You can’t say “this is THE bra” — because no one bra works for all.
