You’ve got questions… we have answers!

We’ve put together this list of Frequently Asked Questions based on what we have seen and experienced. We’ll be sure to keep this section updated as new questions arise.

FIT & COMFORT

Most women have been misled about bras, fit, and size. There’s no one perfect bra for every woman—because every woman and every body is different. And that’s okay.

Each size costs money to develop, so designers decide which ranges to manufacture. That choice can limit what most stores are able to offer. At Uplift, we carry a variety of designers that support the women we serve.  We have 200+ bra sizes ranging from band widths of 28-48 and cup sizes from A-M. The average “box store” carries roughly 40 bra sizes.

Without a fitting, you don’t know what you don’t know. That’s why we offer complimentary bra fittings—because it’s important that you know.

The signs are usually there — straps that dig in or slide off your shoulder, a band that rides up your back, cups that gap or overflow, or the constant urge to adjust throughout the day. A bra that truly fits stays put, feels supportive, and practically disappears. You forget you’re wearing it. That’s the feeling we help every customer find.

Mostly because fittings are rarely done with real care — and because our bodies change constantly. Weight shifts, pregnancy, hormones, age — all of it affects fit. A number assigned years ago may have nothing to do with where you are today. We don’t just measure you; we fit you. There’s a meaningful difference.

We hear this often — and almost always, the discomfort comes down to fit. When a bra is the right size and shape for your specific body, it doesn’t pinch, poke, or squeeze. We curate brands that put real thought into fit, fabric, and construction. We can’t count how many times a customer has walked out saying, “I didn’t know a bra could feel like this.”

Yes — and it’s more than a nice-to-have. A cotton gusset allows the skin to breathe and supports feminine health. Most quality panties include this as a standard, and it’s one of the details we pay attention to when selecting the brands we carry.

SHOPPING & STYLE

Both have their place. Wider straps distribute weight and offer more support — ideal for fuller busts or everyday wear. Thinner straps work beautifully for lighter styles or when the outfit calls for it. The right answer depends on your body and your wardrobe, and a good fitting will help clarify that.

Lingerie in 2026 is all about comfort, confidence, and self-expression. Soft, flexible structures are replacing rigid underwires, while whimsical details like delicate lace and pastel palettes are having a major moment. Bold, richly colored sets and the underwear-as-outerwear look are also big — and perfectly matched sets are out, with unexpected color pairings taking their place.

No — and here’s why. Without knowing your true size and which brands and styles work for your body, buying a bra online is really just a guessing game. A professional fitting changes everything.

Twice a year, designers release new colorways, fabrics, and silhouettes — spring/summer and fall/winter. As a boutique, we curate thoughtfully from each collection: selecting the styles, sizes, and colors we believe our clients will love most. Once a seasonal piece is gone, it’s gone. So when something catches your eye, it’s always worth acting on it.

FABRIC & CARE

Each fabric brings something different. Cotton is breathable, classic, and easy to care for. Organic cotton offers all of that with a gentler environmental footprint. Modal and viscose are silky and lightweight with a beautiful drape. Silk is know for its exceptional strength, soft texture, and temperature-regulating properties. Polyester is durable and holds color and lace patterns especially well. Lycra and elastane add stretch and recovery, so pieces move with you throughout the day.

Hand-washing is the gold standard — cold water, delicate care wash , and laying flat to dry preserves both shape and fabric beautifully. If you prefer the machine, a mesh lingerie bag on a delicate cycle will do the job. The dryer is where most intimates meet an early end, so we always suggest skipping it. A little extra care goes a long way toward keeping your pieces looking and feeling their best. GUIDE TO TAKING CARE OF YOUR LINGERIE
